Ricardo "Cahorrao" Almeida has apparently just signed a six fight contract with UFC after retiring from the sport for three years. Cachorrao (8-2), who is the first American to receive a bbj blackbelt under a Renzo Gracie, was scheduled to make his comeback earlier this month at Cage Fury Fighting Championship, but after the event fell through he ended up negotiated a deal with Dana White.
Almeida weighed offers from five different promotions before settling with the UFC according to GracieMag.com.
“The final goal of my return was to get to the UFC, so I thought why not go straight there at once,” said Cachorrao.
His first bout is expected to be scheduled for sometime in early 2008.
